The Mystery Of The Prophets & Conditions For The Great Distress

Here is a list of scriptures discussing the Great Distress. The prophets of ancient Israel have long warned about it. I have made sure to include complete context, in other words, brace yourself, there’s a lot of proof.  I encourage you to read the chapters before and after to ensure that you are not being misled, as many have been before. You will see how the Bible seems to repeat the same thing without contradiction over the ages. There is indeed ample evidence to support this, but if I were to use all or most of them, I’m afraid I this post will be too long. There are other scriptures that talk about God scattering his people, which has nothing to do with the great scattering, one of them being Zechariah 7:14. It is essential that we stick to context so that the truth can be learned.

7 “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“Strike the shepherd that the flock may be scattered; I will turn my hand against the insignificant ones.8 It will happen in all the land,” says the Lord, “that two-thirds of the people in it will be cut off and die, but one-third will be left in it.9 Then I will bring the remaining third into the fire; I will refine them like silver is refined and will test them like gold is tested. They will call on my name, and I will answer; I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.’”

ZECHARIAH 13

We know that the shepherd in verse 7 that Zechariah is talking about is Jesus. He is saying that once Jesus has been crucified, the Israelite nation will come to an end, and the Hebrews that were left behind will later be tried and tested; they are called the surviving remnants, also referred to in Isaiah 11:10-16. This also contradicts the notion that the Hebrews were scattered over the entire world in 70 AD because Zechariah is telling you here that a third will be left behind and tested for a time. This is accurate to what happened in history. It also says that on the day they call upon the Lord, they will be reunited with Him once they have been refined. This scripture is also tied and related to Ezekiel 5, where it gives a clue as to what the Lord was saying about the time of distress. Here, you will begin to see how the prophets from different times and locations spoke in sync; though they did not know each other, they communed with the Spirit of God.

27 “Yet you have dealt with us, O Lord our God, in all your kindness and in all your great compassion, 28 as you spoke by your servant Moses on the day when you commanded him to write your law in the presence of the people of Israel, saying, 29 ‘If you will not obey my voice, this very great multitude will surely turn into a small number among the nations, where I will scatter them. 30 For I know that they will not obey me, for they are a stiff-necked people. But in the land of their exile they will have a change of heart 31 and know that I am the Lord their God. I will give them a heart that obeys and ears that hear; 32 they will praise me in the land of their exile and will remember my name 33 and turn from their stubbornness and their wicked deeds, for they will remember the ways of their ancestors, who sinned before the Lord. 34 I will bring them again into the land that I swore to give to their ancestors, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they will rule over it, and I will increase them, and they will not be diminished. 35 I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God, and they shall be my people, and I will never again remove my people Israel from the land that I have given them.’

BARUCH 2:27-35 Ethiopian Cannon

The scripture in the book of Baruch aligns with many other scriptures in the Bible. It suggests that the Hebrews will be scattered among the nations due to their disobedience. In their exile, God promised to give them a heart that would be obedient to Him. They will praise Him in the lands of their exile. He will bring them back to the land promised to their forefathers, establish an everlasting covenant with them, and they will no longer live in fear. However, this does not seem to match the current state of modern Israel. The ongoing wars in the region have led many Israelis to leave due to instability. It is reported that nearly half a million people have left Israel since the events of October 7th, 2023. This seems to conflict with many prophecies in the Bible.

Another thing to note is that God calls the people Israel, not the land. Israel can not exist without all the tribes present to make it Israel; the covenant is with the blood of the people, not the land. This raises the question of whether modern Christianity indeed bears the word of God or is just another religion seeking to control people.

How awful that day will be! No other will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it. 8 “‘In that day,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘I will break the yoke off their necks and will tear off their bonds; no longer will foreigners enslave them. 9 Instead, they will serve the Lord their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them. 10 “‘So do not be afraid, Jacob my servant; do not be dismayed, Israel,’ declares the Lord. ‘I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their exile. Jacob will again have peace and security, and no one will make him afraid. 11 I am with you and will save you,’ declares the Lord.‘Though I completely destroy all the nations among which I scatter you, I will not completely destroy you. I will discipline you but only in due measure; I will not let you go entirely unpunished.’

JEREMIAH 30:7

Here, we see Jeremiah taking time away from his usual prophecies to speak about the great distress and the restoration of his people. The text mentions David as their king, but since David had long passed, it actually refers to the throne of David and Jesus returning to sit on it. This is a recurring theme in the Bible. Before Israel is to be restored, the Israelites are to emerge from an event of immense distress that scatters them across the world. The Bible also states that nothing will make him afraid again when the Lord returns Jacob (the Israelites) from exile. Therefore, this prophecy does not align with current events. There are numerous biblical prophecies that contradict the notion that Jesus had anything to do with the creation of the modern state of Israel, something we will explore in later posts.

’ 20 Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on 21 and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. 22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. 23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

24 “‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees. 25 They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever. 26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever. 27 My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. 28 Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’”

EZEKIEL 37:20-28

We can see that in Ezekiel, it just repeats what Baruch and Jeremiah are saying. The critical thing to take from here is that the bible says that David will be their king by the time they return to their God. So, in other words, if they are to accept Christ as their king who represents David in the last days, the True Hebrews, according to scripture, will become Christians or the followers of the Way as they used to be called. Jesus says I am the Way, so in effect, they will be followers of Christ.

9“Then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that all of them may call on the name of the Lord and serve him shoulder to shoulder.10 From beyond the rivers of cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings.

ZEPHANIAH 3:9-10

This scripture refers to the land “beyond the rivers of Cush,” which is known today as Sudan, a name adopted in 1956. The term “Sudan” comes from the Arabic “Bilad as Sudan,” meaning “land of Black people.” Historically, this term was used to describe the Sahel region of central and west Africa. The scripture suggests that beyond these African rivers, the Israelites will seek refuge in Africa at some point in history.

7 The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”

DANIEL 12:7

Sure, I understand. It seems like this verse may be hard to grasp in the New International Version alone, so I’d recommend cross-examining other versions of the Bible to get a better understanding. Let’s take a look at the following verse from various versions of this scripture:

Brenton’s Septuagint Bible

King James Bible

Message Bible

NETS (New English translation of the Septuagint) Old Greek

NETS (New English translation of the Septuagint) Theodotion

What we can see here is that the scripture states that the great scattering or the time of great distress, as it says in Daniel 12:1, will last a time, times, and half a time. When the power of the oppressor is broken, this means that the oppressor’s legal power will be demolished! So this begs the question, What is “a time, times and half a time?” This phrase appears three times in the bible, twice in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament. The nature of the phrase manifests itself when there is great suffering. This, indeed, will be the key to unlocking the mystery of the phrase. We will explore what this term actually means in future chapters.

DEUTERONOMY 28:15-68

There are so many detailed points made about the great dispersion here. The people took this to heart, and every generation or so, a prophet was born to remind them of what was ahead of them if they strayed from the word of the Lord. So, we are going to add some of these to our Criteria for the Abomination of Desolation and the Great Scattering.

  • They will be defeated by their enemies in wars until they become a thing of horror. Deuteronomy 28:25
  • They will be unsuccessful in everything they do. Deuteronomy 28:29
  • Their wives/partners will be sexually abused. The rape of the nation will show up in the D.N.A of the Descendants  Deuteronomy 28:30
  • Possessions will be stolen and given to their enemies, Deuteronomy. 28:30
  • Their children will be given to other Nations, and they will be powerless to stop this. Deuteronomy 28:32 and 41
  • Foreign nations will eat most of what their labour and land produce. Deuteronomy 28:33
  • They will only know cruelness and oppression all the days of their lives. Deuteronomy 28:33
  • The Lord will drive them and the king they set over themselves to an unknown nation as captives (this cannot be Babylon as the Hebrews knew Babylon) Deuteronomy 28:36
  • They will worship other Gods as captives. Deuteronomy 28:36
  • They will become a byword and a thing of ridicule. Deuteronomy 28:37
  • The locust will eat their produce. Meaning nothing will come of the work of their hands. Deuteronomy 28:38
  • Other foreigners will do better and lend to them  Deuteronomy 28:43 to 44
  • A yoke will be put on their Necks until they are destroyed as a nation and people Deuteronomy 28:48
  • The Lord will bring nations far away they have not known, whose languages they will not understand; they will take everything from them Deuteronomy 28:49 to 52
  • Their marriages and families will suffer breakdown Deuteronomy 28: 54/56
  • They will be uprooted from the land promised to them Deuteronomy 28:63
  • They will be terrified in the lands of their exile Deuteronomy 28: 65 to 67
  • They will be sent back to slavery in ships Deuteronomy 28:68

During the great dispersion, there were a tremendous and detailed number of curses. It is incredibly saddening that people had to experience all this. The details recorded here give us a distinctive set of guidelines to identify such people. The fulfilment of these guidelines would make it challenging to describe as mere coincidence revealing a divine will at play.

“In those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will put them on trial for what they did to my inheritance, my people Israel, because they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. 3 they cast lots for my people and traded boys for prostitutes; they sold girls for wine to drink…  The sun and moon will be darkened, and the stars no longer shine. 16 The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

JOEL 3:1-2/15-16

Remember, the Lord Jesus quoted from the Book of Joel (Mark 14:24 to 25, Matthew 24:29, Luke 21:25), saying that the moon and the stars will darken after the great distress. This indicates that it does not refer to a time before him. Who is he talking about here? Who was scattered among the nations through slavery? Who was traded for prostitutes? Who were the girls sold for wine to drink? This is Joel’s prophetic perspective of what will take place during the great scattering. As a quick side note, have you noticed how the Almighty says in verse 3 that he will judge all nations in the valley of Jehosaphat, yet in the book of Revelations 19:11 to 21, it says that Jesus is the one doing the Judging? That’s because Jesus is God, and there are so many scriptures that prove this.

This and other verses reveal a time to come in the last days when the stars will no longer shine, and the sun and moon will be darkened. Jesus and John in Revelations chapter 6 give us additional details of the event. They say a worldwide earthquake will accompany this event. But can such an event happen? Can we relate a worldwide earthquake to the things we have been taught and our understanding of the world we live in? I, for one, would say that if the fine and specific requirements have been satisfied in the previous biblical prophecies, then we may be looking at a world-changing event that is about to happen very soon. But are Christians taking it seriously, and if the answer is no, then why not?

Many Christians today doubt the scriptures’ claims and mentally negotiate with them by saying they are metaphors for coming events. Have we become so doubtful of the Almighty’s power because we cannot see the words of the scripture coming to pass in the great detail they were penned in?  Was that the true intention of the Almighty to give us poetry and metaphors in place of his true intentions? We will boldly declare that the Almighty can do anything before others, but in the depths of our hearts, we feel restricted by the bounds of our experiences and what we have been taught.

8 After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah, Gomer had another son. 9 Then the Lord said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.

10 “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted. In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’ 11 The people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together; they will appoint one leader and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.

HOSEA 1:8 to11

It’s essential to have a conversation about the book of Hosea and its significance in the context of the great dispersion. The book mentions a time when the Israelites will be told that they are not the people of God. When we consider this alongside other prophecies, it becomes clear that this refers to when Israel will be scattered among the Gentiles. In the chapter, God also promises that the people will eventually be recognised as the people of God. Now, if you look at verse 11, you will notice that it speaks about the restoration of the Israelites.

So now I will expose her lewdness before the eyes of her lovers; no one will take her out of my hands. 11 I will stop all her celebrations: her yearly festivals, her New Moons, her Sabbath days—all her appointed festivals.

HOSEA 2:10-11

“In that day,” declares the Lord, “you will call me ‘my husband’; you will no longer call me ‘my master.’ 17 I will remove the names of the Baals from her lips; no longer will their names be invoked. 18 In that day I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky and the creatures that move along the ground. Bow and sword and battle  I will abolish from the land, so that all may lie down in safety. 19 I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion.20 I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the Lord. 21 “In that day I will respond,” declares the Lord—“I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth; 22 and the earth will respond to the grain, the new wine and the olive oil, and they will respond to Jezreel. 23 I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show my love to the one I called ‘Not my loved one.’ I will say to those called ‘Not my people,’ ‘You are my people’; and they will say, ‘You are my God.’”

HOSEA 2

The Lord declares that he will strip the people of their culture, sabbaths, and festivals, which chimes in with Deuteronomy 32:26 and The Book of Jubilees, where the Lord vows to erase the Israelites from human memory. You can see the foreshadowing of how these people will become lost. But again, later, in the very next chapter, he repeats the exact timeline of events. How severe was this time of scattering going to be for the Lord to speak so much about it? He says when they return to him as a people, he will make a covenant with the beasts of the field, which syncs with Isaiah 11:6-9. This means that the hostile nature of beasts towards human beings will change.

3 The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes.”

2 So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley. 3 Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”

4 For the Israelites will live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred stones, without ephod or household gods. 5 Afterward the Israelites will return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They will come trembling to the Lord and to his blessings in the last days.

HOSEA 3:1-5

In the third chapter, the Lord says the Israelites will be many days without a prince, sacred stones, etc., and then they will return and seek the Lord and David, their king (Jesus). It is saying that the Lord will redeem them according to verse 2. Though they were adulterous, they will come back to him. This is a theme that is consistent among the prophets.

26 I said I would scatter them and erase their name from human memory, 27 but I dreaded the taunt of the enemy, lest the adversary misunderstand and say, ‘Our hand has triumphed; the Lord has not done all this.’”

DEUTERONOMY 32:26-27

The Lord has declared that He will scatter the Israelites for their sins and remove them from human memory. This indicates that the Lord will displace the Israelites from the land He had given to their forefathers. He says that the world will forget that they were ever there. This leads us to question whether He is capable of actually doing this. Was this an idle threat that never actually happened? Have the true Israelites been forgotten and remain lost until He decides to awaken them? If they were scattered and erased from human memory, it is highly likely that they have also forgotten themselves.

21 They made me jealous by what is no god and angered me with their worthless idols. I will make them envious by those who are not a people; I will make them angry by a nation that has no understanding. 22 For a fire will be kindled by my wrath, one that burns down to the realm of the dead below. It will devour the earth and its harvests and set afire the foundations of the mountains.

DEUTERONOMY 32:21-22

11 Again, I ask: did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? not at all! rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12 But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their full inclusion bring!

ROMANS 11:11 linked with DEUTERONOMY 32:21-22

The Apostle Paul has spoken about the Gentiles as a people and how the Hebrews will become angry with a nation that has no understanding. These events were fulfilled during the crucifixion of Christ and the spreading of the gospel. The Gentiles have studied the Bible and become experts in the scriptures and history, learning about God, their creator. However, they struggle to understand end-time prophecies and sometimes misinterpret the word of God, creating problems that only God can resolve. We will delve deeper into this topic in a later chapter to stay focused on the current subject.

64 Then the Lord will scatter you among all nations, from one end of the earth to the other. There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.

DEUTERONOMY 28:64

13. And I shall hide My face from them, and I shall deliver them into the hand of the Gentiles for captivity, and for a prey, and for devouring, and I shall remove them from the midst of the land, and I shall scatter them amongst the Gentiles. 14. And they will forget all My law and all My commandments and all My judgments, and will go astray as to new moons, and sabbaths, and festivals, and jubilees, and ordinances. 15. And after this, they will turn to Me from amongst the Gentiles with all their heart and with all their soul and with all their strength, and I shall gather them from amongst all the Gentiles, and they will seek Me so that I shall be found of them when they seek Me with all their heart and with all their soul.

THE BOOK OF JUBILEES 1:13 Ethiopian Canon

The books of Deuteronomy and The Book of Jubilees mention that the Hebrews will be scattered among the Gentiles. The Lord says, “I will scatter you from one end of the earth to the other.” The scriptures also state that they will be removed, and according to Deuteronomy 32:26, they will be erased from human memory. This raises the question of whether God can remove the Hebrews from the memories of the people who wrote about them. The book of Jubilees, among other books, tells us that the Hebrews themselves will forget that the Lord was their God and follow other beliefs, and after this, they will return to Him. So the world will forget them, and they will forget who they once were. Naturally, this means that the children of Israel cannot, under most if not all circumstances, be reinstated by a world that has forgotten them leaving this as a set task for the Almighty God alone to accomplish at the appointed time.

Do you see how much of the scripture actually conflicts with today’s Christian beliefs? Now, many of us know God is real, and we know Jesus is real. We have personal testimonies, seen the impossible, seen visions, dreamed dreams and been healed. So, it is tough to accept that these prophecies could be more accurate, but again, are we looking at things incorrectly? Has the answer always been there, but we chose to ignore it in favour of other things? Or perhaps God was just throwing empty threats and didn’t mean a thing he was saying.

7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

9 But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them. 10 Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid. 11 For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

JEREMIAH 30

Jeremiah and many other prophets were in line to deliver this prophecy during their prophetic careers. Here, Jeremiah calls the great distress the time of Jacob’s trouble. He says that by the time Jacob is able to come out of it and return, they will serve the Lord their God and David their King. As I stated earlier, this is not the actual King David, but his throne and the one who sits on it, Jesus Christ.

27 “‘If in spite of this you still do not listen to me but continue to be hostile toward me, 28 then in my anger I will be hostile toward you, and I myself will punish you for your sins seven times over. 29 You will eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters. 30 I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars and pile your dead bodies on the lifeless forms of your idols, and I will abhor you. 31 I will turn your cities into ruins and lay waste your sanctuaries, and I will take no delight in the pleasing aroma of your offerings. 32 I myself will lay waste the land, so that your enemies who live there will be appalled. 33 I will scatter you among the nations and will draw out my sword and pursue you. Your land will be laid waste, and your cities will lie in ruins.

LEVITICUS 26:27

In the book of Leviticus, the Lord warns Israel several times that they will be punished for their sins seven times over, in verses 18, 21, 24 and 28. This suggests that the Israelites in the future were going to face a difficult period in history. This aligns with the teachings of Jesus in the Gospels and other prophets. The book of Leviticus emphasises that God’s judgment will be multiplied by seven, but can we truly understand the extent of God’s judgment? How do we know if Israel was indeed punished seven times over? How was it quantified and where is it in the bible? Again, it is easy to overlook these words. In the following chapters, we will explore the seriousness of taking the Lord lightly. Many people may have read the Bible and overlooked these passages without realising the significance of this history. Simply writing about this has led me to take a moment to acknowledge how truly awesome God is. You will soon understand what I mean.

10 In that day the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples; the nations will rally to him, and his resting place will be glorious. 11 In that day the Lord will reach out his hand a second time to reclaim the surviving remnant of his people from Assyria, from Lower Egypt, from Upper Egypt, from Cush, from Elam, from Babylonia, from Hamath and from the islands of the Mediterranean.

12 He will raise a banner for the nations and gather the exiles of Israel he will assemble the scattered people of Judah from the four quarters of the earth. 13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed; Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim. Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s enemies will be destroyed;Ephraim will not be jealous of Judah, nor Judah hostile toward Ephraim. 14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia to the west; together they will plunder the people to the east. They will subdue Edom and Moab, and the Ammonites will be subject to them. 15 The Lord will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian sea; with a scorching wind he will sweep his hand over the Euphrates River. He will break it up into seven streams so that anyone can cross over in sandals. 16 There will be a highway for the remnant of his people that is left from Assyria,as there was for Israel when they came up from Egypt.

ISAIAH 11:10-16

The Book of Isaiah reveals many signs to help us avoid deception. It begins by discussing how Jesus gathered his people from the four winds of heaven, which was in line with the gospels. Jesus will achieve this with an outstretched arm and a mighty hand. Interestingly enough, I have had debates with fellow Christians who are of the opinion that if this is the second time, then 1948’s creation of Israel must be the first time. This is absolutely ludicrous because any seasoned Christian who studied their Bible should know that when the Lord used an outstretched arm and his mighty hand, the first time was in reference to the first Exodus from Egypt. Additionally, this term is used twice for when God created the world, so the second time, given the context of power involved, proves this can never relate to 1948 in the slightest way ever.

I have used my computer to search the term ‘Outstretched Arm or Mighty Hand’ and found that almost all scriptures using this phrase relate it to the first or second exodus event when God gathers Israel from the four corners of the world. I will create a list to give you context:

Deuteronomy 6:21, Exodus 13:3, Exodus 6:6, Exodus 3:19, Exodus 13:16, Exodus14:31, Exodus 32:11, Deuteronomy 4:34, Deuteronomy 5:15, Deuteronomy 7:42, 2 Chronicles 6:32, Nehemiah 1:10, Psalm 136:12, Jeremiah 32:21, Daniel 9:15, Deuteronomy 9:29, Deuteronomy 26:8, 1 Kings 8:42,  2 Kings 17:36,

All of these scriptures are about the wonders of the Exodus from Egypt, but the ones in Ezekiel are about the second return to the promised land. Ezekiel 22:33-34, Ezekiel 20:34.

In verse 15, the tongue of the Egyptian sea and the Euphrates is mentioned as drying up. According to the Bible, there will be a highway for his people. In Zechariah 10:10-11 The Nile river will dry up so his people can pass, Some people see all this as a metaphor, especially since it did not happen in 1948 when Modern Israel was established. At this point, it begs the question of whether the ancient exodus and the miracles logged by the ancient Israelites were just a metaphor. However, I believe that doubting God at this point will lead to destruction. By the end of this post, I hope your faith, no matter where you are from or your background or ethnicity, will be renewed, significantly increased and prepared for the powerful things that will take place this century in line with biblical prophecy.

32 “‘You say, “We want to be like the nations, like the peoples of the world, who serve wood and stone.” But what you have in mind will never happen. 33 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will reign over you with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath. 34 I will bring you from the nations and gather you from the countries where you have been scattered—with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm and with outpoured wrath. 35 I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations and there, face to face, I will execute judgment upon you. 36 As I judged your ancestors in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will judge you, declares the Sovereign Lord. 37 I will take note of you as you pass under my rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant. 38 I will purge you of those who revolt and rebel against me. Although I will bring them out of the land where they are living, yet they will not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord.

EZEKIEL 20:32-38

The Lord has sworn that by the time the nation of Israel returns from the lands they were scattered in, He will reign over them with a great display of his power. Remember, the Lord has sworn this will happen. Israel, on their return to the Lord, will not be able to fall away from him as the Lord himself declares it will NEVER happen. He says that he will test them in the wilderness, and face to face, he will execute his judgment upon them and bring them into the covenant. An interesting point that conflicts with our reality in the same verse, that is Ezekiel 20:37 The Lord declares that he will take note of the Israelites as they enter into the new covenant and all those who are found to rebel against him, will not enter the land of Israel. Again, how does this harmonise with our current beliefs and present reality? Is this covenant in the verse about the Gospel of Jesus? Does history and reality prove that Jesus is not the Christ or rather that the creation of modern Israel is not the true return? So which one is it? Was Jesus the true Messiah promised to the world by the merciful, loving Father of creation or was the creation of modern Israel the true return? From either perspective, we face a dilemma that will let down one large group of people in favor of another. Perhaps the prophecies, as some say, were mere tradition and should not be taken so seriously, however, this highlights the question, why do we even follow biblical prophecy at all?

There are many scriptures suggesting that the bringing of the nation into a new covenant is a national baptism of the Holy Spirit and an outpouring of his anointing in the last days, but I will stick to the topic at hand for the time being. An exhaustive number of scriptures fall in line with the ones quoted; they leave no room for errors, but mistakes have been made, and deception has increased.

Jesus’s view is clear in his own words in Luke 21:22: “For this is the time of punishment in fulfilment of all that has been written.” Has Israel fulfilled the criteria for God’s punishment? If they have, wasn’t the acceptance of Christ as their atonement for sin a condition for fulfilling many prophecies? As I have mentioned before, there are many questions that remain unanswered and are therefore ignored by the Christian community.

So, let’s update the criteria for the Abomination that causes Desolation and The Great Scattering. You should see by now that the list of requirements is making it challenging for these specific events to take place unless someone has engineered them to play out that way. The fulfilment of these requirements is definitive proof of divine intelligence at work:

  1. It will be spoken of and confirmed in the book of the prophet Daniel (Matt 24:15, Mark 14:15)
  2. It will be a challenging time for pregnant women & nursing mothers  (Matt 24:19, Mark 14:17)

  4. Jesus says that this will be in fulfilment of what has been written and declared so that we can find evidence in the prophets (Luke 21:22)
  5. Jesus tells his people to leave and never return. The true Israelites had to leave that region.  (Matt 24:16-18, Mark 14:14-17)
  6. The days will be shortened because of his people, the elect they will not return until the angels gather them from the 4 winds of heaven (Matt 24:31, Mark 14:27)
  7. A time of distress will appear in mankind that will never be equalled again. (Matt 24:21, Mark:14:19, Luke 21:24, )
